Thomas was in all likelihood born in England, and we know from his mother's will that his mother's name was Bridgett. We know that Bridgett's first husband died and that by 6 October 1635 she was living in Salem with her second husband Edward Giles. Thomas is probably the second son of Bridgett, as he was mentioned after Samuel in her will. Bridget's will was dated 14 January 1668/9 but wasn't proved until many years later, 30 Nov 1680. He received a small inheritance in her will, likely because he had already received his inheritance when he married. His daughter Bridget, named after grandma, was also mentioned.
As mentioned by noted historian and author Robert Charles Anderson in his Great Migration series, in the Gloucester vital records the following can be found: "Thomas Verrey, son of Goodwife Gyles, was married by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Endicott, unto Hannah Gyles, daughter of Thomas Gyles of Salem, upon the 6th of the 5th mo., 1650." The only problem is that there is apparently no record of a Thomas Gyles of Salem. Anderson thinks it likely that the supplied last name of Gyles is probably an error. I don't know who Hannah's parents were. Edward Giles had no known daughter named Hannah, even with some mystery first wife, so Thomas did not marry his step-sister or a half sister.
Thomas and Hannah have nine children listed in Gloucester vital records. His death is listed in Gloucester vital records.
