From material found in the NEHGR article and the Dawes book listed above and also in "Little Compton Families" by B. F. Wilbour: Jonathan grew up in Dorchester and was married there by the Worshipful Joseph Dudley. He was a carpenter. His first child was born in Dorchester and the others in Little Compton, R. I., where he lived on what was called the mile square which is at the end of the road south of the Commons. His, house, made of wood and stone, was torn down about 1870. A statement in "Notes on Little Compton" by B. F. Wilbour, may be about this house. It says it was one of those called "stone-enders", an unique R. I. form in which a great chimney made one end of the house. It said it was somewhere between the present Shaw and Brownell Roads and that there is a picture of it in the Historical Society library. The Dawes book said it was in the northwest meadow of what in 1890 was the John A. Seabury place.

Records of the First (later United) Congregational Church of Little Compton shows a copy of faith formulated in 1704 which was signed by the minister, Richard Billings, and ten others as founders. Among the names was that of Jonathan Davenport. In earlier church records is a " Memorandum: On Nov 1, 1700,the Rev. Mr. Peter Thatcher and John Danforth visited this town of Compton and preached here and on the third day of Nov. they baptized sixty five persons, viz: ..." Among them were listed Jonathan, Hannah, Simon, Ebenezer, John, Joseph and Benjamin, children of Jonathan Davenport.

His will made in Little Compton 28 Mar 1729 and proved 17 June 1729, recorded in Taunton: "To wife Hanna one third of income of all homestead and use of great room in my house; to son Thomas one four acre lot I bought of David Irish and 100 pounds in money; to son Jonathan 20 pounds; to son Simeon 80 pounds; to son John 100 pounds; to son Ebenezer 100 pounds; to son Joseph a fifteen acre lot in the mile square in Little Compton and my dwelling house and orchard and all land on the side of the highway joyning to them with all the buildings. He to be executor. To son Benjamin all land in two 20 acre lots on the east of Cole Brook line the 29th and 30th in number and my sedge lot at Quicksand Pond and a sedge lot in Quonset and 200 pounds; to daughter Hannah House 80 pounds; to daughter Sarah Davenport a feather bed; to son Joseph one half pew in meeting house and the other half of pew to daughter Sarah..."

Both he and his wife are buried in the Old Commons Cemetery in Little Compton.
